Today Has Officially Been Proclaimed Les Paul DayJune 9, 2015 by Les Paul Foundation
Les Paul’s 100th Anniversary officially kicked off at 10am today in New York City with Lucille Songhai, from Mayor Gayle Brewer’s office (left), Michael Braunstein, Executive Director of the Les Paul Foundation, Journey’s Neal Schon and Michaele Schon (right) proclaiming it officially Les Paul Day throughout the city. The proclamation was officially presented on the steps of Les Paul’s Big Sound Experience, a 53′ interactive touring tractor where visitors experience Les Paul through various opportunities that include hands-on technology and music making.
At the same time legendary rock icon Peter Frampton accepted a proclamation from Nashville’s Mayor Karl Dean also proclaiming it Les Paul Day in Music City (photo 2 – Mayor Karl Dean (left) – Pater Frampton (right). Simultaneously to mark the historic event the City of Waukesha, the State of Wisconsin and the City of Hollywood proclaimed it Les Paul Day in honor of the great innovator, musician, entertainer and icon.
